The Last will and Testament of John Voice 1628

In the name of God amen. the one and twenty daie of February in the yeare of or lord god one thowsand sixe hundred and twenty seven I John Voice of ye parishe of Horsham in the countie of Sussex, husbandman beinge sicke in bodie, but of good and perfect memorie, thankes be to god doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge, that is to saie,

First I bequeath my sowle to Allmightie god my only savior, by whose death and passion I hope to have free remission of all my sinnes, and in due time to enioy his everlasting kingdome, and my bodie, I committ to the earth and as touching my worldly goodes I dispose as followeth

Item I give to the highe church of Chichester fowerpence:

Item I give and bequeth to William Voice my sonne twenty shillings to be paid him when he shall accomplishe the age of xxi yeares

Item. I give and bequeth to Annis Voice my daughter Tenn poundes of lawfull money of England to be paid her when she shall accomplishe the age of one and twentie yeares or daie of marriage which shall first happen

Item I give and bequeath to Margaret Voice my daughter the like sume of tenn poundes to be paid her when shell shall accomplishe the age of one and twentie yeares,

Item I give and bequeath to Mary my wife Tenn poundes of lawfull English money to be paid her within one moneth after my decease, to be by her imployed one the tenement of myne now in ye occupation of Daniell Touchener, and Thomas Mills for and towards the buildinge and reparations thereof

Item I give and bequeath to William my sonne two paier of sheetes

Item I give and bequeath to my abovesaid daughters, each of them halfe a dozen of pewter a peece,

Item I give to William my sonne Fower peeces of pewter

Item I give to Mary my wife tenn poundes to be payd her within sixe moneths next after my decease;

All the residue of my goodes and chattells not before given, I give and bequeath to John Voice my sonne whom I make my whole and sole Executor of this my last will and testament,

And I doe entreate and make my brother Mr Edward Lea, overseer, to this my last will and testament In witness whereof I the John Voice have hereunto put my hand and seale,
