The Last Will and Testament of John Burt of West Orchard, Dorset. Died 1805
 

 

In the name of God Amen

I John Burt of West Orchard in the county of Dorset Yeoman being somewhat infirm in body but of sound and disposing spirit and memory praised be God Do this sixteenthe day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Five make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form as following

First and principally I commit my Soul to Almighty Trusting and hoping through the merit and intercession of Jesus Christ to receive pardon for all my sins and a joyful resurrection in the Kingdom of Heaven My body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred by my Executor hereinafter mentioned.

As to my Worldly Goods I dispose and bequeath in manner following

First I make my wife Mary Burt full and sole Executor all my in property I leave to her such as my Estate Bills Bonds Mortgages Goods Chatells Ready Money and any thing else of what nature kind or sort -- and whatever to be only ---to pay John Candy Senior of Burry Court Farm, Donhead, Wilts yeoman the sum of Three Hundred pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid twelve months after my Decease.

I Revoke all other Wills made by me and before this to be my last will and testament John Burt, Testator

Furthermore I will and ordain that if my wife Mary Burt should marry any other man after my death she is to pay John Candy Senior of Burry Court Farm Donhead Wilts or his Executors Administrators or Assignes the sum of ten pounds yearly and every year during the term of her natural life
